Terminal Equipment

Pumping, metering, vapour control, utilities and safety systems across the terminal.

Transfer equipment

Pumping capacity is matched to tank and line configuration so that transfer rates meet customer requirements without placing unnecessary pressure on the system. Centrifugal pumps are used for high-rate bulk movements, with positive displacement pumps for high-viscosity and dosing duties.

Metering and custody transfer

Custody transfer measurement uses calibrated positive displacement and Coriolis meters, cross-checked against tank gauging. Calibration is on a defined cycle with certificates retained, and metering skids on the loading gantries support automated batch control for road and rail dispatch.

Vapour, blanketing and utilities

Vapour recovery units serve the light product loading circuits. Nitrogen generation supports blanketing on oxidation-sensitive products. Steam, compressed air, cooling water and instrument air are distributed across the site with standby provision on critical services.

Safety and fire protection

A firefighting ring main with dedicated pumps and foam provision covers the tank farm and jetty. Gas and flame detection is installed in process areas with alarms presented in the control room. Emergency shutdown systems isolate sections of the terminal under defined conditions, either automatically or on operator command.

Control and automation

The terminal is operated from a central control room running redundant control systems. Tank levels, flows, valve positions and alarm states are monitored continuously, and every movement is logged for reconciliation and audit.

Pumps and drivers

Centrifugal pumps for bulk transfer, positive displacement pumps for viscous grades and dosing, with standby units on critical routes.

Metering skids

Calibrated PD and Coriolis metering with automated batch control on road and rail gantries, cross-checked against tank gauging.

Vapour recovery

Vapour recovery on light product loading circuits, reducing emissions and permitting high loading rates within consent limits.

Nitrogen generation

On-site nitrogen generation for tank blanketing on oxidation-sensitive products, renewables and chemical service.

Fire protection

Ring main with dedicated fire pumps, foam provision on tank farm and jetty, and monitors positioned for coverage of process areas.

Control systems

Redundant control and safety systems with continuous monitoring, alarm prioritisation and full movement logging for audit.
